The Central Indiana Regional Transportation Authority (CIRTA) has named Andrew McGee interim director. McGee, who currently serves as assistant director, will assume his new role following the departure of current executive director Lori Kaplan, who retires July 13.
McGee has worked for CIRTA in various capacities since 2011. Prior to that, he worked seven years for the Central Indiana rideshare program when it was managed by IndyGo. McGee has also worked for the rideshare program in South Florida and T2 Systems in Indianapolis. A Boone County resident, he serves on the Town of Whitestown Board of Zoning Appeals and previously served on the Redevelopment Commission. He is board president of his neighborhood Homeowners Association.
McGee will work closely with consultant Ron Gifford of RDG Strategies, which CIRTA has contracted to conduct a regional transit assessment.
